Today my post is different in that it does not pertain to any of my books or the farmhouse. God allows us to go through certain things that build our trust and faith in Him. I don’t know about you, but the last several weeks have been a whirlwind for me as I know it has for others.
I love the starfish story by Loren Eiseley that points to someone throwing a starfish back into the sea after there are so many washed upon shore, surely they can’t save them all and is asked “Why does it matter, anyway?” and the man replies “It makes a difference for this one….”.
Why do I love that? Because we get caught up in the numbers and the “making a huge difference” today. But that’s not what God is about. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Some things we are called to do may make a difference to only one person, but God cares so much for each one of us that He is willing to do whatever it takes to make the difference to just YOU! He chooses YOU!
I find it ironic that I would have a desire for writing when school was never my strong point. I think back to my high school/college days where I could have been easily labeled as having ADD. However, I survived without medication and am here to tell about it. Nonetheless, God has instilled in me the desire to write, even more ironic because I am not a big reader. Be willing to step out in faith and allow God to use you, even when it is out of your comfort zone.
You are Chosen to make a difference. I am continually reminded of the trust and faith I have in Him to see me through each and every day. The last two weeks have been a whirlwind for me and many around me. Each day I cling to His word to see me through. I have to admit I fail at many things over and over but I continually come back to Him to give me the strength, peace, joy, forgiveness, love and desire to continue my life here on earth.
Today be reminded that You are Chosen and loved by God. He cares about you as if you were the only one. Would you leave your flock of 99 sheep to go look for just 1 that is lost? A parable that Jesus used in the Bible, and does He not love you much more than a shepherd his sheep!
No matter what you may be going through always cling to His word and know that He never leaves you. Yes, we will make mistakes, and yes, we don’t always do or say the right thing. But today is a new day to lean on Him, surround yourself with others that lift and build you up.
When things in our lives spiral out of control, look for the blessings He brings even in the midst of chaos. I can’t tell you how many people God has put in my path to help me with so many things that have gone wrong in just the last six months. I can only see each and every person as a gift from Him.
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit-fruit that will last-and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” John 15:16
