Am I producing weeds or fruit for Jesus?
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control”.
Growing up my grandparents and my parents planted gardens. We also had pear and peach trees. Planting a garden takes time and preparation, it takes daily work to produce. The reward is delicious meals, fruits and vegetables. There are times in our lives when we don’t produce fruit for Jesus. In order to bear fruit, we must be abide in Him every day. The world has us so busy that we feel it is not possible to put in 10, 30 or more minutes of anything in to our day. The same way we enjoy planting seeds to produce vegetables and fruit to eat, we should also enjoy bearing good fruit for Jesus such as peace, love, and kindness. We want the result of our spiritual fruitfulness to strengthen our growth, glorify God and lead others to know Christ.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing”. John 15:5
In God’s garden of grace, even a broken tree can bear fruit.
Continue to journal your Praise, Thanks and Prayers each day and watch how God works in your life this week, month and year!
I absolutely love your daily devotions, it’s the best part of my mornings. We get caught up in daily activity and don’t take the time to read the Bible or any sort of scripture. Your emails motivate me to give thanks for everything and everyone, Glory to God in the highest.
2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us triumphantly as captives in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.
Thank you
