Unspeakable Joy Devotional

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God”. 1 John 4:7

The definition of love is an intense feeling of deep affection. I think it is apparent for most people to love their spouse, children, and family. But what about the love we may also have for others? I spent several years while my children were growing up in a group of Godly women doing Christian Women’s Luncheons and I met women who had so much wisdom and love for the Lord. But there was one lady in specific that her actions really spoke to me, more than she even knows. It was evident by her works that she loved the Lord, she was very active in many things that would lead others to know Christ. She was put in a position to help a young family with three small children who needed a place to stay and she took them in. Over time, they became part of her family and she raised them. This is such a great love story. She had already raised her children and they were not living at home any longer and to take on three small children and ultimately raise them like her own was nothing less then the pure love of Jesus that dwelt in her. I have never forgotten that and the few times I still see her, I ultimately see the love of Jesus that beams from her. I know that all three children are thankful that a Godly woman named Debbie took them in and loved them for Jesus.

God knew you before he formed you in the womb. God loves you so much that He sent His only Son so that you may have eternal life. Share God’s love with others around you that they may see Jesus in You.

“Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart”.

1 Peter 1:22
