Hunger for God’s Word. If we are deprived of food and water for an extended period of time, our physical body will weaken and eventually die. There is a spiritual parallel. The word of God is our spiritual food and water. As surely as we will die physically without food and water, we will die spiritually without God’s word.
In Psalm 119:81 read David’s greatest desire “My soul faints with longing for our salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.”
The Word of God (the Holy Bible) is the most definite way we can know and hear the voice of God! When we read scripture, we read who He is and how much He loves his people. Take time today to hear from Him by reading the Bible!
”Man shall not live on bread alone, but every word that comes from the mouth of God” Matthew 4:4
God doesn’t want his Word to be drudgery. He wants to be longed for. God’s Word, his story, is so amazingly beautiful, and I pray that He would give you an unquenchable thirst for the Bible in your life.
Your Word, Lord, is Eternal; is stands firm in the heavens.
