Making good choices. I think it’s safe to say that most of us have made bad choices in our life. I am the first to raise my hand and say ‘Yep, that’s me!’ Decisions come in all shapes and sizes. We all have choices to make everyday on what we eat, whether to exercise or not, and how we spend our time.
When we recognize a bad habit or face a moral choice, we can apply God’s command to always choose His way. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him.”
Did you know that we have been given the gift of choice by God? For most kings, they choose everything for us. We have no choice. But not God.
God gives eternal choices, and these choices have eternal consequences. Yes, we are free to choose but not free of the consequences of our choices.
We have the freedom to choose where we will spend eternity. It is our freedom. God has given us that choice. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Dear God, I pray you will give me wisdom to make good, Godly choices. May I trust God to have the best plan for me and may He give me clear direction for my life.
