He is our anchor. Don’t wait for your ship to drift away; let God be your anchor and secure you no matter how deep the water is.
Have you ever been to the lake in a big rain storm? I’ve been on the lake when it appeared to be gentle and calm and then quickly reminded that we are never in control. We threw the anchor overboard but it never fully reached the floor. The anchor keeps you from drifting. Unfortunately, our anchor and the line connected to it was not long enough to reach the bottom of the lake due to the unexpected rain and the depth of the water. There were times when we would just drift, anchor and all. It wasn’t until we reached the shallow part of the lake, closer to shore, that our anchor would catch the bottom and the boat would stop.
Our life mirrors the boat and how we need to let God be our Anchor no matter how deep the water becomes. God has an unlimited supply of line to reach any area in our life that may seem out of control or full of heavy currents (burdens). So no matter where you are in your life, he will always keep you grounded and never let you drift away.
Hebrews 6:19 “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain..”
Dear God, Thank you for being an anchor in my life. Lord, I know there are times in my life that seems so out of control and always drifting. Thank you for being the anchor in my life that always keeps me grounded and close to shore. Amen.
