“…Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14 This picture is a beautiful stained glass in a church in Charleston, South Carolina and shows Jesus with the children and this verse.
Mark 19:13-15 “Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.” The disciples tried to turn the children away, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me….” Jesus was displeased with His disciples for their actions. He then blessed the children.
Like children who implicitly trust their parents, believers trust God. Faith is not about knowing everything or doing everything right. It is about knowing that, no matter what happens, our Father will take care of us. That trust in Him, even when life is terrifying and sad and makes no sense, is what makes a believer like a child. John 6:37 “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” God loves His children.
