Sharing Your Faith. The Apostle Paul wasn’t eloquent, but God used him because he depended on the Holy Spirit to guide him. “When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.” 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 God guided many others in the Bible: Moses, who a first asked God to get someone else to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land, or Jonah, who didn’t think the wicked Ninevites deserved God’s mercy and tried to run the other way.
God does not call the equipped; He equips the called. As Christians, we are called to share what Christ has done. Some of Christ’s last words on earth were, “Go and make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 28:19 Sharing our faith isn’t just a suggestion, it’s a command.
Make a habit of reading the Bible, praying and going to church. We do these things not for attention or for the sake of doing them but to help us grow in our own faith. We can also reflect Christ through our kind words, patience, a gentle temperament, choosing to love even difficult people, carefully monitoring what we watch or listen to, and treating others with respect.
People need to hear the Gospel and that God loves them, Christ died for them and that they can have eternal life. Romans 10:13-14 says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?” (B Graham)
For the devotionals for the month of June, I would like to share testimonies of how God has worked in and through your life or your testimony of how you came to know God and was saved. Each day I will post a testimony for others to read and maybe someone will come to know Him through your words. I need 29 people who are willing to share. Pray that God calls you to share your testimony. You can email your testimony to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. It will be shared through my website blog.
