Running on Empty. I read this article not long ago and figured everyone could relate. Have you ever run out of gas? Unfortunately, I have run out of gas in my car. As you drive down the road, all of a sudden your car doesn’t want to go anymore. It sputters, it slows down and finally comes to a stop. You then realize you aren’t going any further. You have run out of gas.

It is easy in life to feel like you have run out of gas. There are so many things asking for our attention. We have jobs, church, school, kids and list continues. Sometimes it feels like you can’t go on. It is sort of like you just ran out of gas in life.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus said that when we are tired, worn out that we can come to Him. We can learn to not take the stresses, care and worries of life on us, but rather learn to lean on Jesus. He’s the one that can show us ways to de-stress our lives.

When you are stressed out and feeling like you’re running on empty, remember you’re not alone. You’ve got Jesus to help you out all you have to do is ask Him for it.

Jesus, I thank you that you’re here to help me in every stressful situation that I face. I choose to look to you for help when I’m running on empty. I believe that you’re showing me the steps to take or changes I may need to make to de-stress my life. I ask for your help with all I’m facing this week, and know that with your help I can make it. Amen.
