In His Presence. One of the most important spiritual exercises that we can do is to spend time in God’s presence. When I am aware that I am connected to God, I have peace, hope and the spiritual strength that I need for whatever the day brings me.
To be in God’s presence usually begins with intention. Make a decision to become connected to God. I remind myself of His special qualities and of this faithfulness. Luke 4:8 “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
Here are some scriptures related to spending time in God’s presence:
Jeremiah 29:13-14 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Exodus 33:14 “And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.”
Psalm 51:11 “Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.”
If you feel like your joy tank is running low, get into the presence of the Lord today. Spend time in prayer and praise to your Creator. He will fill you with joy and develop in you endurance for anything He calls you to do.
